Inside and Outside Saturday

This past Saturday was a busy day for us.

We first had the honour of premiering "Burn Back Down" at a fundraiser for the Kenneth Mark Scholarship fund. It was powerful to play for Ken's family and friends and heartwarming to see the energy and positivity in the room. As an added bonus, we got to meet to Jenny Gumbs, the Consul General of Grenada in Toronto. Who bought a CD. So, basically, we're huge in Grenada.

Later that evening we had a blast playing our first outdoor festival. It was a gorgeous night at Ossington and Bloor and the crowd was just incredible! Despite chilly fingers and a malfunctioning pedal everything rocked. But not too hard, it was a family friendly affair.

What's next? Well, we've got lots of work to do to finish up our last 4 songs, and then with luck we'll be having a EP release party in the near future - keep an eye on the site for updates!

Finally, a few people at the show asked if we could share the lyrics for "Burn Back Down." Check them out:

Burn Back Down

From taxi sideline faded over time
Down a narrow alley they await their crime
Might be hard to do
Might be hard to do
No neighbour of theirs, but now you’re mine

One plus two teen killers hiding just inside
An altercation wounding more than pride
What have I done wrong?
What have I done wrong?
A lamp post vigil staged the day you died

Did they burn you back down?
Did they burn you back down?
Did they burn you back down?
Burn you back down

A heightened slight demands a settled score
You can not pass leave your weapons at the door
You could never know
Where this could go
You learn too late it’s not worth dying for

Did they burn you back down?
Did they burn you back down?
Did they burn you back down?
Burn you back down
Burn you back down
